Lord Sebastian Coe was today announced as the new BOA Chairman after his one opponent withdrew.
Coe is the perfect candidate for the role after having already delivered on many large-scale events.
The 1980 and 1984 olympic champion brought the world the best summer of sport, and he gave Britain their best ever sporting success.
One of his first decisions in his role will be the preserve the legacy of the 2012 games.
However, after his successes already he has the power and drive to make this a massive success.
In other athletics news, Jessica Ennis was named on the three women shortlist for the IAAF athlete of the year, a day after Mo Farah was overlooked.
Ennis herself won gold in the heptathlon and set a new world record in the event earlier in the season.
