Murray to face Federer

Andy Murray will face Roger Federer today in the semi final of the ATP Tour Finals later today looking to continue his best ever season.

The Olympic gold medalist and US Open champion has had a 2012 to remember and could well take the crown here again if he gets past the record breaking Swiss.

Federer comes into the game after losing emphatically to Juan Martin del Potro yesterday, but he had already qualified for the semi-final.

Murray has been impressive in this competition winning two of his three games so far, against Jo Wilfred Tsonga and Tomas Berdych.

He also has the upper hand having beaten Federer recently in the semi-finals in Shanghai and the Gold medal match in London. He also leads 10-8 in their career personal battle, one of the only a select group of players to have a better head to head ratio than Federer.

Federer has however won this competition six times and is the reigning champion. Murray knows he will not be giving that title up easily so has to be on the top of his game.

The game will take place around 19.45 (GMT) tonight and is live on Sky Sports 2.
