The last few days has seen some superb sporting action, and here at The Sporting Week, we will guide you through some of it.

In football, League 2 side Bradford City stunned Premiership outfit Aston Villa in their semi-final first leg as the Bantams won 3-1 at home.

Goals from Nahki Wells, Rory McArdle and Carl McHugh where enough to give the home side victory and advantage in the second leg.

In darts, and the BDO World Championship, young Dutch player Jimmy Hendriks defeated three time winner Martin Adams in a shock 3-2 victory.

Staying in darts and Darryl Fitton sent out the top seed Stephen Bunting as he progressed to the quarter final stage.

In cricket and England’s controversial star Kevin Pietersen has signed a new England central contract and is now available for all three forms of the game.

Also in cricket, Derbyshire have signed West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul on a two-year contract.

F1 driver Sergio Perez says he is aiming for the title with Mclaren after the Mexican officially started in his role at the Mclaren team.

In Boxing and London Olympics GB captain Tom Stalker is to turn pro after he signed a contract with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Sport.

Elsewhere, Billy Twelvetrees and Calum Clark have been selected in the 33-man England squad for the rugby union six nations this afternoon.

BBC Sport have maintained the rights for the three big Snooker World events until the end of the 2016-2017 season.
