With the recent announcement that 35-year-old liverpool defender Jamie Carragher will retire at the end of the season, The Sporting Week has a look back at one of his greatest and not so great achievements.
Having joined the club as a nine-year old boys,m he has gone on to make over 700 appearances for the Merseyside club.
He has played in som,e of the biggest games in the world and was instrumental in helping Liverpool claw back a 3-0 defect to win the European Cup in 2005.
The defender will always be remembered for his impressive tackling and the video below highlights his best ever ones, as well as some classic Carragher moments.
The player celebrated his testimonial a few years back, where he scored an own goal, (something which he has done in his career a few times) for Everton.

Whether he is the best defender Liverpool have had in the last 20 years is another story but Carragher has given the game some great thrills and spills and served his country well. When he final hangs his boots up at the end of this season, Liverpool will be losing an Anfield legend.
