England continue to play their third test against India as they look to make it a 2-1 lead after having previously been 1-0 down in the series. in the series so far, captain Alistair Cook has become England’s highest ever centurion.

In rugby union, the Heineken Cup continues to throw up its big matches with Sale taking on Toulan on Saturday as the group stages reach there conclusion.

The UK Championship snooker draws to a close this weekend too and with favourites out in the early rounds, like Judd Trump and John Higgins, a new title winner could be made from Ali Carter, Shaun Murphy, Mark Davis and Mark Selby.

There are the regular season ice hockey matches, the indoor season for athletics is starting to take shape with many regional competitions and there could be five race meets, including Aintree and Wetherby if the weather holds out.

The championships will see many of the stars return to their special individual discipline, and the whole competition will start with a special, not to be missed, performance by Beth Tweddle.

The two sessions will showcase the vault, floor, pommel horse, uneven bars, rings, beam, parallel bars and high bar.

In the women’s section, GB’s youngest home Olympian and British all round champion Rebecca Tunney will demonstrate her talents again.

Away from the GB gymnasts, Marcel Nguyen (GER) will look to add another title to his array of silver medals from London 2012 and in the female section Vanessa Ferrari (ITA) will hope to gt back to winning ways.
